Prep Beef Tongue (about 2.5 lb) Recipe ( 怎樣處理牛脷 )

Ingredients
  

  • 2.5 lb beef Tongue
  • 5 pcs star anise
  • 18 g ginger with skin
  • 1 tbsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp cooked wine
  • 1 red hot pepper
  • 2 cloves of garlic with skin
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • cloves

Instructions
 

  • Wash beef tongue thoroughly.
  • Put all the spices in cold water and boil them at high heat for about 20 min. Turn on medium high heat, and boil until you get a whiff of the different spice scents.
  • Turn on the high heat to put the beef tongue and cooked wine into the boiling water and make sure to submerge the beef tongue completely.
  • After boiling, turn to low heat and boil for one and half an hour.
  • Use the hand to take away the outer layer (white ) of the beef tongue and wash it again.
  • If you want to eat beef tongue cold, then wash with warm water and then immerse it with hot pepper oil.
  • For Korean Barbecue, cut it into pieces. Or eat with hot pepper oil, or cooked with other materials.
