Chinese New Year Lucky Bags Recipe (福到臨門.袋袋平安)

Here’s the deal with this one. You have to find it. These lucky bags are similar tofu ,but filled with delicious fish roe. I guarantee you it will be addicting. I practically fight for it every time it’s on the dinner table.

袋袋平安 means?

INGREDIENTS:

  • 18  lucky bags
  • 320g choy sum
  • 10g goji berry
  • 1 tbsp Sa Cha sauce
  • 1 tsp fish sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 slice ginger

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Wash choy sum and remove the core of choy sum. Leave them dry.
  2. Wash goji berry slightly.
  3. Wash the outer layer of the lucky bag with hot water to remove excess oil. Dry them up.
  4. Boil 1.5 liters of water with a slice of ginger in a pot.  After boiling, add Sa Cha sauce, fish sauce, sugar and lucky bags on medium heat for about 2 minutes. Put aside
  5. Add choy sum to the existing soup for about 45 seconds. Put the choy sum aside.
  6. Put the lucky bags in the center of the dish and surrounded by choy sum.
  7. Put the goji berry into the soup for about 10 seconds. Then put them on the top of the dish.
